Welcome to The Fresh Reflection.

What do you see when you look in the mirror?

Do you see your gorgeous blue eyes or your wrinkles? Do you see your cute freckles or your under-eye circles? Do you see your beautiful smile or your crooked nose?

What YOU see is different from what WE see and this blog is here to prove it!

Spurred on by THIS post on our photography blog, we have decided to make changing the perception of ourselves official. The goal of this blog is to tell each other what WE see. The beauty WE see in YOU. Every day we will post a photo of a woman. Someone we know or don’t know. And then we ask you to leave a comment to tell that woman what YOU see in them. What do YOU think is beautiful about them that they may have missed?

To make this blog work, we need your help! Please send us images of the women in your life to jodie@freshartphotography.com. We will post EVERY SINGLE IMAGE we receive. If there is a story to go with your image let us know, otherwise we will just post her photo. Please give us her name, just her first name, and if that’s all the info we receive on her that’s fine. But let her know she’s been posted. Let her read about how truly beautiful she is. Let her see what she’s been missing.

Share with her the fresh reflection.

Thanks,

kim and jodie

This is going to be huge! What an amazing community of support you’re launching for women, all of us, who need each other and simply others’ reflections about us to make us feel inspired and motivated (especially on ‘those days’). I’m adding Fresh Reflections to my Google Reader RIGHT NOW!

This is such a fantastic idea. I put a link to this on my blog. When I look at the photos you take I always think “wow, those woman are all so gorgeous, they must only photograph beautiful people”. Then, I started to think, maybe your talent as photographers, lies in bringing out the beauty in those you photograph.

looking at old photos is what we have been doing lately around here. thousands of old photos from a very long time ago. what I noticed most about looking at photos is that they capture a true moment, which is what makes this blog so special. as people grow and age together, we tend to see what we originally saw, no matter how many years, wrinkles, pounds, ago. there are no flaws in the other people we see. only our own flaws that we bring to other’s attention.
thank you for creating such a special space.

A motivating discussion is definitely worth comment. I do
think that you ought to publish more on this subject,
it might not be a taboo subject but typically people do not discuss such topics.
    To the next! Many thanks!!

Amazing blog! Do you have any suggestions
for aspiring writers? I’m planning to start my own blog soon but I’m a little
lost on everything. Would you suggest starting with a
free platform like WordPress or go for a
paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m completely overwhelmed .. Any suggestions? Thank you!
